2024: August 27 // Conversations with Possibility: State Government & University Partnerships

Hosted by the Possibility Lab at the University of California, Conversations with Possibility is a speaker series that brings together dynamic changemakers whose innovative approaches and ideas are improving public sector leadership and civic engagement in California and beyond. The goal of this speaker series is to foster the exchange of ideas, spark creative solutions, and facilitate thought-provoking discussions around some of the country’s most pressing public policy challenges.

On August 27, 2024, we were thrilled to connect with our partners in Sacramento to discuss how to leverage university partnerships to advance evidence-based policy. We welcomed dozens of policy staff to hear from some of our current partners and explore the immense opportunities that exist to catalyze partnerships between UC researchers and state government. Our panel featured:

Mary Ann Bates, Executive Director, California Cradle-to-Career Data System

Becky Monroe, Civil Rights Attorney and former Deputy Director of Strategic Initiatives and External Affairs, California Civil Rights Department

Sebastián Sánchez, Deputy Secretary for Agriculture and Immigrant Workforce, California Labor & Workforce Development Agency
