Arvind is a Postdoctoral Scholar at the Possibility Lab. He received his B.A. from UNC-Chapel Hill and Ph.D. from Duke University in 2023. Following his appointment in the Possibility Lab he will join the Ohio State University as an assistant professor in the Political Science department.
Arvind’s research sits at the nexus of race, institutions, and political behavior. His scholarship examines the institutional insulation of municipal police from democratic control. Specifically, this work evaluates how participatory reforms, like civilian oversight boards, change police behavior and public engagement with the state. His research can be found in the Oxford University Press Book, Deadly Justice: A Statistical Portrait of the Death Penalty and is forthcoming in American Political Science Review.
In his spare time Arvind enjoys living out his childhood dreams of making the NBA, making music with his friends, and playing board games.
