Rebekah is a Political Science PhD student at the University of California, Berkeley. Her interests lie at the intersection of public policy, public opinion, inequality, race, and political behavior. Broadly stated, she studies the relationship that states have with their vulnerable populations in the Americas. Thus far, her research has examined this relationship through the lens of the carceral state in the United States and Latin America.
Rebekah’s work has been supported by the National Science Foundation and the American Political Science Association. Prior to coming to Berkeley, she received a B.S. from Cornell University in Development Sociology with minors in Crime, Prisons, Education, and Justice (CPE+J), Public Policy, and Law and Society.
