Possibility Lab’s Senior Advisor Jesse Melgar honored with Inaugural UCLA Civic Engagement Award

The Possibility Lab’s Senior Advisor for Strategy & Public Affairs Jesse Melgar, M.P.P. has been awarded the UCLA Bruin Excellence in Civic Engagement award by the UCLA Alumni Association for his work in state government, philanthropy, and communications. Melgar has extensive experience working in various public affairs capacities at the highest levels of California government. He has served as an advisor to the Governor, Secretary of State, Insurance Commissioner, several legislators, legislative caucus, advocacy organizational leaders and gubernatorial appointees. 

The Bruin Excellence in Civic Engagement Award is given by the UCLA Alumni Association in recognition of “exceptional Bruins who are serving in civic positions and making a difference in people’s lives,” according to the award description. Melgar joined other UCLA alumni visionaries, volunteers, and leaders who are engaging with community organizations, finding solutions to today’s civic issues, and improving the quality of life in our communities. They were honored by UCLA Alumni on Nov. 13, 2023 at a reception on the UCLA campus.
